We Don’t Know How You Celebrated Harry Potter’s Birthday, But We Hope It Was With Drunk Ron Weasley (via YouTube)

It was Harry Potter’s 33rd birthday last week and to celebrate Jimmy Fallon brought out comedian Simon Pegg dressed as Ronald Weasley to sing him a drunken birthday song. Be warned, it is very drunken. Twenty points to Gryffindor (or another house of your choosing) if you can figure out why he’s a grown man and still wearing his school wizard robes. Another ten points if you can figure out how fake Latin can make magic work.

Have a Glimpse at Some Sentinels and Vintage Peter Dinklage in X-Men: Days of Future Past (via I Watch Stuff)

Days of Future Past Sentinels

X-Men Days of Future Past (which we’ve heard told is set after The Wolverine) is coming next year and to hype us up even further pictures of the giant mutant fighting robot Sentinels and their creator Bolivar Trask, played by Peter Dinklage, have been released on a fake Trask Industries website. Scattered throughout the site there are propaganda posters, a promotional video and shots of Sentinels at important historic events a la the alternate history opening of Watchmen.

Walter White Reads Percy Bysshe Shelley’s “Ozymandias” in Eerily Prophetic “Breaking Bad” Trailer (via The Laughing Squid)

We normally wouldn’t be covering “Breaking Bad” because it generally doesn’t revolve around the literature sphere, until recently that is, when the show released a trailer of drug kingpin Walter White (Heisenberg) played by Bryan Cranston reading Percy Bysshe Shelley’s poem “Ozymandias.” Considering it’s about the eventual decline of despotic rulers and the empires they create no matter how strong they once were, we have a sneaking suspicion this series cannot end well.

Disney Is Finally Working On An Artemis Fowl Adaptation (via New York Daily News)

Artemis Fowl

Good news everyone! Disney is working on turning the eight-book series Artemis Fowl into a movie. The film will cover the first two books in the series, which centers around 12-year-old criminal genius Artemis in a richly interwoven fantasy world. The bad news? It’s being written by the screenwriter who tortured the world with the “completely missing the point” adaptation of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Hopefully he’s learned how to read books by now.

The “Sherlock” Series Three Teaser Trailer Needs More JohnLock and Less Creepy Mustaches (via Lainey Gossip)

We may still be three very long months away from pirating copies of “Sherlock” to learn just how Benedict Cumberbatch survived jumping off a building (or at least confirm those Tumblr theories) and to tease us even further, the BBC has released a teaser trailer in which everyone seems to be going about their lives. Especially John Watson who has apparently spent his time growing a porno-stache. Awesome.

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries Team Will Take on Jane Austen’s Emma Next (via Tube Filter)

Emma LBD

Hank Green and company had us hooked on their vlog adaptation of Pride and Prejudice dubbed the Lizzie Bennet Diaries, and they announced that they’re set to do it all over again with Emma. The series, titled Emma Approved will follow Emma Woodhouse, an entrepreneur with a flair for matchmaking much like her equally fictional counterpart. EA will launch in the fall, and we cannot wait to see how this Gwyneth Paltrow free take on the classic comes together.

Marissa Meyer’s Cress Has a Gorgeous Cover That We Actually Get This Time (via Hypable)

Cress Marissa Meyer

The third book in Marissa Meyer’s science fiction fractured fairy tale series follows the story of Rapunzel (obvs) and is due out in February of next year, which feels eons away. For now all we get is this gorgeous cover for Cress, which fits in the theme of the Cinderella inspired Cinder and the Red Riding Hood based Scarlet continuing with the minimal red motif. And unlike the latter cover that confused us for months we can actually tell what is going on with this one.

That Napster Guy Is Rich Enough to Have a Multimillion Dollar Lord of the Rings Wedding (via Vanity Fair)

Sean Parker LotR Wedding

If you don’t remember Sean Parker as the dude played by Justin Timberlake in The Social Network, now you can choose to remember him as that guy who got rich off Napster and had an insanely over the top Elvish wedding. The gorgeous wooded space alone set the couple back a whopping $4.5 million. Which makes us not even want to know how much the nine foot tall wedding cake or the custom costumes from LotR costume designer Ngila Dickson for all 364 guest cost. You can check out all photos of the amazing if pricy wedding at Vanity Fair.

Here’s the Covers For the Last Three Scholastic Harry Potter Books (via Scholastic)

Harry Potter Scholastic Covers

The unveilings for the redesigned Scholastic Harry Potter covers has concluded, but the image sharing is not over yet as next week we’ll have all the back covers for you too. Yay? This time around, we have front covers for Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince and the Deathly Hallows, in which Hermione throws on some hair relaxers. Maybe. You can check out the other cover designs we previously posted HERE and HERE if the mood strikes you.
