So yeah, everyone has known for several months now that Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson would be taking on the mantles of the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but it took Marvel until today to finally confirm it.
Marvel, what are you doing? Look at your life. Look at your choices.
Aaron has of course already acted in the genre before, he originated the role of normal kid turned superhero Dave Lizewski in the Kick-Ass adaptations.
And Elizabeth Olsen is from the “Full House” Olsens.
Age of Ultron, while sadly lacking in all things Loki, will still be penned and directed by Joss Whedon. It currently has a release date of May 1, 2015.
After which will come all the inevitable who made a better Quicksilver articles.
Evan Peters is of course also playing the fast-paced Pietro Maximoff in X-Men: Days of Future Past, and he acted alongside Johnson in the first Kick-Ass film. So yeah, this should be interesting.
