“Will Grayson, Will Grayson” is Getting a Tiny Cooper Spin-Off Musical Book!

Will Grayson Will Grayson

The breakout character from the John Green and David Levithan penned novel Will Grayson, Will Grayson was hands down the larger than life Tiny Cooper AND HE’S GETTING HIS OWN SPIN-OFF!

That’s right, in 2015 Tiny Cooper will be returning in Hold Me Closer: The Tiny Cooper Story. Looove.

Although as far as novel titles go, Hold Me Closer Necromancer sounds way more up Tiny Cooper’s alley.

This time around the novel will only be penned by David Levithan but it will be a musical novel, inspired by the musical within the book about Tiny Cooper’s love life.

Or rather the full version of the musical complete with script notes and descriptions to turn this into a true standalone story. Not to mention some lyrics written by John Green.

Levithan also said that once it’s released he wants the musical to be imagined with some help from fans. Or maybe even create an official version.

As he explained, “I’m really interested in the idea of crowd-sourcing the musical once the book comes out and really letting the readers make their own versions of the songs and post them on YouTube or send them around, and soundtrack it their own way.”

“There could be an official version, but I expect that there will be plenty of unofficial versions. I know that some versions of the songs in Will Grayson, Will Grayson already exist out there, and so this is just encouraging readers, especially young readers, to play around with it if they want.”

So excited for 2015! We appreciate you Tiny Cooper!
