Even though the newest edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone won’t be out until October, drawings from the first fully illustrated Harry Potter series have already hit the web.
Get ready to fall in love with Hogwarts all over again!
Assuming you ever fell out of love. We know, we know. Impossible.
The illustrations are being undertaken by artist Jim Kay, who is slated to create illustrated versions of all seven Harry Potter books to be published by Scholastic in the US and UK.
The first book is scheduled for an October 6, 2015 release date, and the remainder of the series will be published a book at a time, once a year.
Said Kay of his illustrious project, “Hearing the news that I’d got the commission was an explosion of delight, followed instantly by an implosion of brain-freezing terror.”
“From my point of view it is, without doubt, the best commission you can be given—I’m a bit of a control freak, so to be given the opportunity to design the characters, the clothing, the architecture, and landscapes to possibly the most expansive fantasy world in children’s literature, well, let’s just say I’m extremely excited about it.”
You can check out the rest of the released illustrations (which were all approved by J.K. Rowling) below.
