HBO is Developing Four ‘Game of Thrones’ Spin-Offs Even Though We Still Haven’t Gotten ‘Winds of Winter’ Yet

Game of Thrones will draw to a close in 2018, but that doesn’t mean that HBO is ready to let its cash cow go, or that creator George R. R. Martin is ready to finally finish Winds of Winter.

The network has announced that it is currently developing four spin-off series from four different writers. Martin will assist with writing on two of these projects.

The writers include Max Borenstein, who most recently penned Kong: Skull Island, Jane Goldman of Kingsman and X-Men: First Class fame, A Knight’s Tale‘s Brian Helgeland and Carly Wray from Mad Men.

My Year in Reading: Cassie-la’s 2017 Reading Challenges

Last year was the first time that I decided to participate in online reading challenges, and I’m so glad I did. (Spoilers: I crushed it.)

In addition to crossing a number of books off my TBR, I was also able to keep on top of new releases. Although there is more work to be done — my TBR is still out of control and I missed out a ton of 2016 reads I hope to get to this year — I plan to participate in four more challenges.

Bibliomantics 2016 Reading Challenges

2016 marked the very first year I participated in online reading challenges, and I more than killed every … single … one.

Not only did I bump a decent amount of books off my TBR (35 to be precise) and caught up on plenty of series (exactly 31), but participating in these reading challenges gave me a supreme sense of accomplishment.

Lin-Manuel Miranda Joins ‘The Kingkiller Chronicle’ Adaptation

Lin-Manuel Miranda is not throwing away his shot at being part of The Kingkiller Chronicle adaptation, which currently includes both a feature film and a television series.

The first book in the series — The Name of the Wind — will make up the film, followed by a television series continuing the as-yet unfinished trilogy.

LMM has signed on alongside author Patrick Rothfuss to be a creative producer. He will also compose original music and songs for the adaptations.
